Join the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce as a welcoming face of our community! We’re seeking a friendly, organized and dependable individual to manage daily operations at our Heritage Center and support our Chamber team with a variety of administrative and visitor-focused tasks. This part-time role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with the public, keeping things running smoothly, and sharing the best of Chambersburg and the Chamber with our members, residents, businesses and visitors alike.
General Responsibilities:
- Open and close the Heritage Center each day during scheduled hours (8:00 AM to 1:00 PM), following established procedures.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service to all visitors and members, both in person and over the phone.
- Support Chamber staff with administrative tasks such as preparing mailings, tracking calendars (digital and physical), assembling new member packets, and updating the event board.
- Monitor and maintain office supply inventory; place orders as needed.
- Learn and utilize basic functions of ChamberMaster, our membership database system.
- Prepare and assemble relocation packets for new residents and businesses as requested.
- Keep the gift shop and museum clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Record and track visitor and volunteer statistics.
- Promote and help coordinate school and group tours as requested.
- Manage gift shop inventory, including ordering within budget and tracking stock in coordination with the Communications Manager/Finance Department.
- Promote the gift shop by updating its Facebook page quarterly and maintaining accurate Google business hours.
- Greet and assist visitors, operate the cash register and credit card machine, and create a positive experience for all guests.
- Support special Saturday operations up to four times per year, including IceFest, Old Market Day, AppleFest, and Small Business Saturday (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM).
- Print and restock materials as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and the Chamber’s mission.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic writing skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently, both independently and part of a team
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills and positive attitude
- Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
Additional Information
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., occasional Saturdays per description
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance
Pay: $18-$20 per hour, based on experience – 30 hours per week
