Communications & Member Engagement Specialist
The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Communications & Member Engagement Specialist. This key role focuses on supporting the Chamber’s communications efforts, enhancing member engagement and coordinating events and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a passion for event planning, social media management and building relationships with members. We’re looking for someone eager to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment. Entry-level professionals and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Job Description:

  • Managing email newsletters, email blasts and website content under the supervision of the communications manager
  • Creating written content for newsletters, press releases, blogs and other marketing materials
  • Handling social media content creation and account management (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), including reels and videos
  • Designing graphics for events and initiatives using Adobe InDesign, Canva and Microsoft Publisher
  • Providing editing and communication support for various Chamber activities
  • Assisting with event logistics and marketing materials
  • Managing, coordinating and executing key events, as assigned
  • Using the Chamber database software
  • Responsible for ribbon cutting photography and business video interviews
  • Support membership retention under the supervision of the membership director, i.e. phone calls, emails, etc.
  • Assist with the Ambassador Program, under the supervision of the membership director, providing support to ambassadors in their efforts to engage and retain members
  • Performing additional duties as assigned      

Qualifications:
  • Degree or background in communications, marketing or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently conduct cold calls and in-person interviews with business representatives
  • Ability to work efficiently, both independently and part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills and positive attitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva and other graphic programs a plus
  • Experience with ClipChamp or video editing software a plus
  • Ability to organize, plan, implement and prioritize workload with adherence to deadlines
Additional Information:
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., with occasional weekend and evening hours. Any additional hours worked will be offset by adjustment to your regular schedule.
  • After the initial training period (approx. 120 days), there is a potential for the role to transition to a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Pay: $50,000 - $60,000, Full-Time (40 hours/week)
