Part-time Law Librarian & Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director

The Franklin County Bar Association is a professional association representing over 150 attorneys, judges, and legal professionals. We are seeking an office professional to support the legal community and assist library patrons.
 
The part-time position will be 20 hours per week. The Franklin County Law Library is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The part-time hours will be scheduled within these times. The responsibilities of the Law Librarian & Administrative Assistant include the following:

  • Assist Law Library patrons with online and physical resources
  • Organize library materials
  • Publish and distribute the Franklin County Legal Journal each week
    • Receive notices via email and mail
    • Edit the journal using Adobe InDesign
    • Print and label the journal
    • Prepare postal forms and transport them to the USPS in Chambersburg
  • Assist in office management tasks, including phone and front-desk reception, bulk mailings, and meeting room scheduling and preparation
  • Manage online platforms, member databases, and communications as needed
  • Assist the Executive Director with additional tasks as required
 
 
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Proficiency with modern office software systems and internet-based platforms
  • Comfort in building relationships with people of varying socio-economic backgrounds
  • Ability to work on new or growing projects
  • Motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Software Skills Preferred:
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe PDF Pro
  • Wordpress
  • Microsoft Excel
 
 The pat rate is $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience.
