"Focal Point" Visual Art Exhibit
Council for the Arts - Gallery hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or by appointment: 717-264-6883
“Focal Point” highlights the camera work of four area photographers. Vince Ha, Meelika Molder, Kaitlin Shadle and Constantine Vloutely will display a wide variety of photographs, from depictions of wildlife, nature, and classical architecture, to international scenes, and manipulated and mixed media photographs. 12th Annual Tim & Susan Cook Memorial 1-Mile Race/Walk
7 to 9:30 a.m. - Chambersburg Memorial YMCA
Proceeds from this event are donated to the Tim & Susan Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to students at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. 7 a.m. Registration begins at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA; 8 a.m. Women’s/Girl’s Race/Walk; 8:30 a.m. Men’s/Boy’s Race/Walk; 9:30 a.m. Results Ceremony. ChambersFest Bike Day
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Pump Track on Hood St.
Compete in one or more of three bicycle events: Pump Track Race; Best Trick Jump Contest; and Short Track Cross-Country Race at the Chambersburg Bike Park. Various categories to include ages 6 to adults. Coordinated by Chambersburg Recreation Department. More information and registration.
Scoop-a-Palooza
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Chambersburg Area Senior High School
Enjoy all-you-can-eat ice cream samples from local ice cream shops! Proceeds raise money for educational programs offered through the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation. More information and tickets.
Second Saturday
5 to 10 p.m. - Chambers Fort Park
Second Saturdays are back this summer! The free event features outdoor concerts at Chambers Fort Park from 5-8 p.m., followed by an outdoor screening of the movie "Alexander and the Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" beginning at dusk. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnics. Coordinated by Downtown Chambersburg Inc.More information.

Q&A with director and cast members to follow the screening

CVSM Voice & Drama Camp presents "Annie" and Sam's Music Camp Performance
9 a.m. & 10 a.m. - First United Methodist Church
At 9 a.m., the students of the Cumberland Valley School of Music (CVSM) Voice & Drama Camp present scenes and songs from “Annie” followed at 10 a.m. by Sam's Music Camp participants who will perform songs and dances they have learned. More information.
"John Brown - Is Violence the Answer?" Video
Shown every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - King Street Community Center
During Old Market Day, the Franklin County Historical Society will show the video “John Brown – Is Violence the Answer?” produced by the Early American History class at Career Magnet School. Dr. Jim Wolfson, author of the book "John Brown’s Last Journey", will facilitate discussion after each showing. More information:www.franklinhistorical.org.
1864: The Burning
6 to 10 p.m. - Downtown Chambersburg
Enjoy history exhibits, kids' activities, vendors, guided Civil War walking tours and more downtown from 6 - 8:15 p.m. From 7:15 - 8:15 p.m. will also be the final round in the musical competition A Capella & Unplugged. At 8:50 p.m. the reenactment of the Burning of Chambersburg begins featuring an exciting light show. Coordinated by the Franklin County Visitors Bureau.
