Description
Do you have a high school student with college bound jitters? Then you should register for “College Prep Knowledge,” a free series brought to you by Penn State Mont Alto. This community-wide series is for parents and adult influencers of high school students planning to attend ANY college or university, not just Penn State.
Topic: Academic Support Services
Our first in the series focus on academic support services. High school students often report being nervous about the demands of college life, concerns that can lead to anxiety and depression during the first year of their college experience. This Q&A will provide college bound families information and opportunities to ask questions about academic support services available in higher education to students with and without documented disabilities.
This session will be led by Penn State Mont Alto Academic Support Center Director Kendra M. Wolgast. Kendra brings nearly twenty-five years of experience to the Q&A table. Before taking her role as director, Kendra helped prepare high school students for college for nearly ten years before pivoting to the Academic Support Center, where she has worked for the past fifteen years. She specializes in student disability resources and is assistant teaching professor at Penn State Mont Alto.
