DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of living history\, music\, foodways\, traditions\, and community as we celebrate the harvest and explore life in 1776.\n\nFrom noon until 8:00 p.m.\, the homestead will be filled with ongoing living history programs and demonstrations\, offering visitors opportunities to experience the sights\, sounds\, skills\, and traditions of the 18th century.\n\nThroughout the day\, visitors can explore hearth cooking and outdoor bake oven demonstrations\, brewing with Oakgrove Farm\, historic house and garden tours\, 18th-century children's games and hands-on activities\, animal encounters\, cider pressing and grape stomping\, Country Dancing\, and presentations on Algonkian traditions and civilian and militia life.\n\nMusic throughout the day will feature period string music\, including lively jigs\, laments\, and ballads with Forbes Road Frolic and Robert Mouland.\n\nSpecial scheduled programs include:\n\n1:00 p.m.  Authors Talk with Americana Corner founder Tom Hand\n\n2:00 p.m. Annual Members Meeting\n\nLiving history programs and demonstrations will continue throughout the day.\n\nAs evening approaches\, we'll gather around the bonfire to close out the day.\n\nFood will be available from The Pretzel Spot Cafe\, and Berg Brewing will be on hand with drinks.\n\nPresenters and participants include Robert Mouland\, Forbes Road Frolic\, the German Regiment\, Tom Hand\, Oakgrove Farm\, and Drew Shuptar-Rayvis.\n\n1776: Harvest on the Homestead is a day for families\, history enthusiasts\, music lovers\, and anyone curious about the people\, traditions\, and everyday experiences of the past.\n\nFollow this event page for updates\, presenter spotlights\, and additional details as we get closer to the event.\n\nWe look forward to welcoming you to the homestead.
